Whether you’re looking to replace lost volume or sculpt your natural features, dermal fillers like Voluma® can produce results without downtime. At Cope Cosmetic Dermatology, we offer a variety of fillers for all your non-surgical rejuvenation needs.

What is Voluma?

Voluma is a formulation from the Juvéderm® family of dermal fillers. It’s made with hyaluronic acid, a complex sugar naturally found in your skin. Hyaluronic acid is responsible for keeping your skin hydrated and supple by binding to moisture in your body. Voluma comes in the form of a crystal-clear gel that can be injected deep into the skin. Called a deep structural filler, Voluma can replace lost volume from age or enhance the natural contours of the face.

What Are the Benefits of Voluma?

Voluma is one of the best options for filling in hollow areas and adding contours to the face. It comes with no downtime and even contains lidocaine for a more comfortable injection process. Voluma is made with Juvéderm’s unique Hylacross™ cross-linking technology to make it more robust and resistant to metabolizing (while still maintaining your natural expressions). A thicker formulation than many other fillers, this means that Voluma is one of the most long-lasting fillers available.

Voluma can be an effective way to lift and sculpt the cheeks, as well as replace age-related volume loss in the midface. It can also be used to enhance the projection of the chin to better balance the facial profile.

What Can I Expect From Voluma Treatment?

Voluma treatment can be completed in as little as 15 minutes. To begin, you’ll meet with our experienced injectors to discuss your goals and determine the right treatment approach with Voluma. Then, your treatment area will be cleansed and sterilized. You’ll be able to see immediate results with Voluma so you can ensure you achieve your desired results before you leave. Once complete, you can return to your normal schedule.

Voluma Maintenance

It’s normal to have some minor redness at your injection sites immediately after treatment. It may also feel slightly tender depending on your treatment area. It’s important to avoid massaging or putting pressure on your treatment area and avoid any harsh skincare products. You should also avoid exercising or spending time in hot environments like showers or saunas. You may experience light bruising if you use blood-thinning medications like ibuprofen before or after treatment.

You may have some swelling in your treatment area after your session, and this is normal. It can take about 2 weeks for your filler to settle in and for swelling to subside. At this point, if you want to add more filler to adjust your results, you can return for another session.

Voluma can last up to two years, and our injectors can help you understand when to return for your next injection session.
